Autism Treatment for Children from the Comfort of Home

Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based approach for autism treatment. It focuses on developing individual strengths and critical life skills that help children reach their full potential by reinforcing socially significant behaviors and promoting independence. Effective delivery of this care requires creating an environment in which children are most comfortable. Particularly when treatment options outside the home are no longer feasible due to the risk of exposure to COVID-19, in-home ABA therapy options are not only most effective but also essential.

Selecting the right care provider and treatment for a child with autism is a difficult decision for families trying to provide the right type of support they need to thrive. At Constellation, we understand that every child, family dynamic, and the situation is unique and requires skilled and compassionate therapists who are committed to connecting each child to care customized to meet their individual needs.

As a provider of a wide range of in-home care services, we have been able to innovate solutions and processes that make in-home care the most effective solution, particularly for ABA therapy.

What Makes Constellation In-Home ABA Different?

People

We carefully select our team of in-home ABA therapists, registered behavior technicians (RBTs) and board certified behavior analysts (BCBAs), and then thoughtfully pair them with children based on personality and need.

Technology and Support

There have been significant advances in tools and technologies that support autism treatments including interactive games and programs on handheld devices and computers. These tools open new possibilities for many children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who may find more ease in learning when the social aspects of personal interaction are limited by a device.

Additionally, technology can be used to remotely connect children or family members with their therapists when in-home appointments may not be possible, or to supplement communication options between appointments. We are able to provide the technology as well as training to make these options available to the families we work with.

Process

With over 20 years of experience, we have developed a proven process centered around customized care plans and quality connections with the children and families we work with. The following are some of the key highlights of this process:

  • Customized plans for success – We begin every relationship with an individual assessment to identify strengths and challenges in order to structure and develop treatments that will help each child reach their full potential. This includes supporting families with daily activities like getting children to school, activities, and appointments, and providing guidance on ways to stay active and establish routines.
  • Reinforcing best practices – all evidence-based approaches to treatments require ongoing commitment to evaluating what is working and what isn’t. We require all our therapists to rely on proven best practices, in coordination with other physicians, teachers, and family members.
  • Follow CDC guidelines – while we always adhere to best practices and guidelines, the current environment amid COVID-19 makes it worth noting that we continue to follow CDC guidelines for everything from cleaning iPads and equipment to using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) for in-home visits, and safety precautions and routines for every situation.

If you or someone you know is actively seeking autism treatment for a child or loved one, Constellation’s Complete Care at Home program offers compassionate professionals and proven solutions. Call today to find out how we can help a child in your life reach their potential.
